Smoking ban
Interesting! Northern Ireland announced full ban for smoking in all public spaces and workplaces, even pubs! The good audiencing of the minister is what i root whole heartedly.
"I do not want to stop those who want to go on smoking from doing so. That’s your choice. You have every right to lead your life as you choose. But no-one has a right to subject colleagues and workmates to the dangers and hazards of second-hand smoke and passive smoking. No-one has a right to subject members of the public who do not smoke to those same dangers in enclosed public spaces."
Although this ban will wait until April 2007 to come into effect, but this is indeed a good will from the government. Read the full article on BBC News here.
And when will the time reach Indonesian government to give the citizen their right?… *sigh* Or we have to struggle for EVERY aspects of our right and confront the government fully so they would acknowledge that this is not only about revenue from tobacco tax?…
